Students from West Virginia University will walk the runway this Wednesday (March 14) to support the Morgantown Boys and Girls Club in the third annual charity Fashion Show put on by the Public Relations Student Society of America.

The show, held in the Mountainlair Ballrooms from 5 to 7 p.m., features clothing and accessories from local Morgantown clothing retailers such as Altered Ego, Coni & Franc, Lavish Boutique, Park & Madison and Vance’s Blues.

Tickets will be sold in the Mountainlair on Monday (March 12) and Tuesday (March 13) for $3, and are also available for purchase at the door for $5.

All proceeds from the show will be donated directly to the Morgantown organization. Attendees are also asked to bring school supplies as additional gifts to the Boys and Girls Club.

DJ Yemi as well as local band Best Friends will provide music entertainment prior to the start of the fashion show. WVU dancers from the Dance Team and Dance Ensemble will also perform. Families and children from the Boys and Girls Club will also be in attendance to support PRSSA’s efforts.

Margy Grow, vice president of PRSSA and the director of the fashion show, said she is thrilled to be directing this year after serving as assistant director for the 2011 event.

“I’ve tried to incorporate more elements into the event besides just having the runway to make the whole experience come full circle, and to make the show last longer this year,” Grow said.

Grow has previously worked with DJ Yemi and said she is excited to have him participate in this year’s event.

“I know he’ll be able to get the crowd going,” Grow said.

The WVU PRSSA chapter, founded in 1968, is one of the six founding chapters. Their mission is to serve members by enhancing their knowledge of public relations and providing access to professional development opportunities.
