Job Description:

  • The Graphic Arts Designer establishes a project schedule for all regular, yearly projects such as the annual report, viewbook, catalog, commencement programs, etc.
  • Directs timely completion of high quality publications by Print Shop staff.
  • Confers with college clients and various departments to determine specific design needs and objectives.
  • Bills clients for graphic services rendered.
  • Supervises efficient operation of college Mailroom, including incoming, outgoing and campus mail.
  • Designs and edits materials using Adobe Creative Suite software.
  • Develops submits bid requests for print jobs produced by external vendors.
  • Coordinates out-of-house print jobs and ensures that quality pieces are produced.
  • Assists in developing and updating institution graphic standards and ensures that all print and electronic design pieces adhere to standards.
  • Coordinates proofing process for all print and electronic pieces for the college.
  • Produces signs/banners for on-campus events, including signs that need mounted on foam board or framed.
  • Assists in design elements for the college’s web presence, including the website and social media sites.
  • Updates content on the college’s closed-circuit television system.
  • Coordinates web change requests from various departments.
  • Takes photos at college events for promotional and archival purposes.
  • Obtains and files signed photo release forms for individuals featured in any photos published by the college in print, online or other format.
  • Edits photos for promotional use.
  • Develops and maintains electronic archive of college photos.
