MMGY Global, a travel marketing firm seeks a Public Relations Account Coordinator in New York City, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Provide account support including, but not limited to: writing and distribution of press releases, maintaining media databases, compiling and writing status and activity reports; organizing press trips/individual visits and assisting with client events
  • Assist with day-to-day client communication
  • Track media coverage; monitor results; present to client in timely fashion
  • Provide some basic office support such as answering general phone line, receiving visitors and packages

Daily Activities

  • Handle information and/or travel requests from media for own account group
  • Assist in development, planning and implementation of PR programs for own client group
  • Coordinate aspects of press trips such as target list development and invites
  • Contribute to/initiate ideas for programs, stories or special events
  • Write and/or edit press releases, special editorial copy, etc. and handle media list creation and distribution of press releases
  • Monitor/coordinate editorial calendar listings and lead generation services and pitch stories to appropriate media
  • Compile, write, edit and distribute client status and activity reports
  • Maintain current supply of client material (press kits, brochures, photo library, letterhead, etc.)
  • Keep media databases current
  • Develop understanding of client’s business (competition, industry issues, etc.)

Experience Required

  • Minimum one year of prior internship or job related experience in public relations, communications, marketing, journalism or related fields.
  • Travel industry experience or knowledge a plus
  • Educational Requirements
  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts) in communications, journalism or related field

This position reports to the Account Supervisor.
